SCT made a grant to St Michael's, Bishop's Cleeve PCC towards restoration of the chancel doorway (long disused) as a secondary exit from the church, in order to meet the Fire Service's requirements. This was one of many grants made for work on religious buildings in the Trust's early years until, following representations by the Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust, SCT took the decision to channel funds through them on a regular basis.
