The Rev. James Buckingham, on 16 June 1836 at Burrington, Devon; "Before his marriage, he met all three of his future wives on the same day," according to Great-nephew RL Davis. The Rev. Samuel Davis was ordained in 1837; a priest. He witnessed the probate of the estate of
Samuel Davis Sr. after 6 September 1837; Probate of their father's will was granted to Wm, Samuel (Junior) and Peter Davis. The Rev. Samuel Davis was "Chaplain" in 1841 at Bude, Cornwall. He was Curate of Burrington between 1847 and 1852 at Burrington, near Chulmleigh, Devon, England. He appeared in the household of

Pridham, 30, surgeon's daughter - and cook, housemaid, nursemaid). He appeared in the 1881 census at Burrington Vicarage, Burrington, Devon; (Head: Samuel Davis, 71, Vicar of Burrington, his wife Ellen E. 48 and his son Alexander Platt, 18 midshipman and unmarried visitor Edward P.B. Pridham, 32 coffee planter - and another visitor and 3 domestic servants). He died on 12 August 1883 at Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, England, at age 73; "aged 73."
She was the daughter of Thomas L. Pridham MRCS, LACL and Caroline Poole. Arthurina Margaret Pridham was baptized on 5 January 1841. She appeared in the household of Thomas L. Pridham MRCS, LACL in the 1851 census at Bridgeland St., Bideford, Devon. As of after 1857,her married name was Davis. Arthurina Margaret Pridham appeared in the household of The Rev. Samuel Davis in the 1871 census at The Vicarage, Burrington, Devon. Arthurina Margaret Pridham married The Rev. (Samuel) Clement Davis, son of The Rev. Samuel Davis and Lucinda Buckingham, on 24 September 1872 at Bideford, Devon. Arthurina Margaret Davis appeared in the household of The Rev. (Samuel) Clement Davis in the 1881 census at The Vicarage, Axmouth, Devon. Arthurina Margaret Pridham died before 16 June 1890.
