     Sir Peter Van Notten-Pole 3rd Bart., JP, DL, MA (Oxon) "Charles Van Notten was a Dutch Banker who came over to London at the beginning of the 18th Century. He married into the Huegenot Bosanquet family, and had a son, also Charles. He met and married the heiress Millicent Pole (related to the Poles of Radbourne) and, because he had provided valuable services to the estates of George III was knighted. Due mostly, however, to his wife's inheritance he changed the name by Royal Sign Manual to Van Notten Pole to signify this. Their great grandson was Cecil Van Notten Pole. The Cecil part comes from the link via Lady Louisa Pery, his mother, with the Cecil family of Elizabethan times." He married Lady Louisa Pery on 28 July 1825 at All Souls, Langham Place. Sir Peter Van Notten-Pole 3rd Bart., JP, DL, MA (Oxon) died in 1887 at Todenham House, Todenham.

     Sarah Ann Gateley was born on 11 July 1825. She was the daughter of Martin Gateley and Ann (Or Hannah) Owen. Sarah Ann Gateley was baptized on 20 December 1825 at St. Chad's, Birmingham; Godparents: James Stone and Sarah Ann Southam. As of between 1 July 1840 and 30 September 1840,her married name was Hand. She witnessed the marriage of Benjamin Bourne and Ann Gateley on 12 October 1844 at St. Philip's Church, Birmingham; (the groom's occupation was plater, and he lived in Sheep Street, Birmingham, the bride living in Lichfield Street: the marriage was witnessed by Sarah and William Hand).
