Thomas Jeffries (Jr.) and
Jane Meredith. Jane Jeffries was baptized on 23 October 1825 at Lyonshall. She married
Peter Davis, son of
Samuel Davis Sr. and
Elizabeth Reynolds, on 30 January 1845 at Parish Church, Pembridge; by licence; the officiating minister being The Rev. William Lee, the bride's uncle by marriage, and the witnesses mostly being relations of the bride - her father's sister Mary Anne; her brother EJJ, and her mother's brothers John & Henry, brother-in-law John Morgan, and nieces Anna Maria Mitchell and Mary Ann Morgan - plus two called William and Jane, surnames illegible. The licence (dated 20 Jan. 45) says the groom was 33 and the bride 19, both of Pembridge parish, the bride's mother (a widow) consenting to the match. As of 30 January 1845,her married name was Davis. Jane Davis lived with

House, Bromfield, Shropshire; (Head: Peter Davis, married aged 40, farmer of 480 acres employing 7 labourers, b Burford, with his wife Jane, 25, b Lyonshall, with 3 children, JJ aged 5, GL aged 3 (both b Pembridge) & LJM aged 1 (b Titley); and Jane Jeffries, 49, annuitant, widow, b Kington, Edward J Jeffries, 23, unmarried, farmer's son, and Elizabeth Jeffries, 19, both born Lyonshall + 3 female, 4 male servants). Jane Jeffries appeared in the 1861 census at Bromfield, Shropshire. She A silver napkin ring with her initials was hallmarked this year (Birmingham), this ring being in the ownership of Bruce Coates of NB, Canada in 1867.

She appeared in the 1871 census at Bickmarsh Hall, Welford-on-Avon, Warwickshire; (Head "pro tem": Jane Davis, married, aged 45, living with 8 children, John J 25; Laura J M 21; Arthur H 18 "a surveyor"; Georgiana R 14; Eliza A 12; Constance A 11; Flora M 8 and Alice M 4; and her mother Jane Jeffries, widow, 67, a 48-y-o female boarder/governess Martha E Smith and an agricultural pupil, plus three servants (2 domestic and 1 farm). She was the adminstratrix of
Peter Davis on 19 January 1874 at District Probate Registry, Birmingham; PD, late of Bickmarsh Hall, Welford, Warwickshire, Farmer, administratrix: Jane Davis of BH, widow (sureties: Henry Jeffries, 23 High St. Guildford, wholesale druggist, and John Davis of Grimley, farmer). Jane Jeffries appeared in the 1881 census at Dowles Rectory, Dowles, Shropshire; (Head: Jane Davis widow 55, her 4 daughters Laura J M Lutwyche 31, widow, Constance A Davis 21, Flora May Davis 18 and Alice M Davis 14, and granddaughter Mary G Freer, 6, and one servant). She died on 18 June 1891 at Bewdley at age 65. She was buried at Dorsington Churchyard, Worcs..
