She died on 30 March 1964 at on Easter Monday, in hospital, at age 74; residence at time of death: 36 Kemo's Eye Avenue, Shrewsbury. "She and Miss Anderson enjoyed so many years together." This was a Scottish lady called Winnie A Anderson. Hilda had suffered from severe rheumatoid arthritis. She was buried on 3 April 1964 at St Chad's, Shrewsbury; funeral service followed by cremation.
