Arthur John Gateley KSG witnessed the marriage of Stephen Joseph Gateley and Winifred Mary Rawlins on 5 July 1905; a Tuesday! Arthur John Gateley KSG was a solicitor and also a cadet in the Birmingham University OTC: he could not ride! On 5 November 1914 at 10 Newhall Street, Birmingham. He married Emily Gertrude Hodgkiss, daughter of Henry Edward Hodgkiss and Elizabeth French Blencowe, on 5 June 1915 at St. Anne's, Birmingham; His parents addressed a telegram of congratulations to "Lieutenant" Gateley, Liverpool. Arthur John Gateley KSG was Captain Gateley was in command of the 1st Manx Service Company, 220 strong in October 1915. He was The Company (then 215 strong) set sail on the Olympic, and joined the 2nd Cheshire Regiment outside Salonika on 13th January. The Company became "A" Company of the 2nd Cheshires. On 3 January 1916. He was ill with Malaria in July 1916. He lived in 1958 at Arrow Old Rectory, Warwickshire. He died on 2 June 1966 at Arrow Old Rectory, nr. Alcester, Warwickshire, at age 83. He was buried at Oscott.
